Max is a Beagle Mix!
Beagles originated around 1300 in England. The early Beagles were as small as 8", carried in pockets and used to hunt rabbits. The hunter frequently had to help them through rough fields. They particularly appealed to lady hunters because they moved more slowly through the fields and were easier to follow.
This is one of the most amiable hounds, as they were bred to hunt in packs. It craves companionship - canine or human! At 30 pounds and less than 13 inches tall, it is gentle and patient with children, and given enough exercise, is a good house pet.
This is a very social dog and needs the companionship of other dogs or people. While it can live outside, it does best when allowed to live in the house with its family.
We are pleased to welcome Max to our practice!
