Shadow is an Aussie Mix!
"Mother Nature" tends to breed for sturdiness, intelligence, playfulness, ability to co-exist with other pets and people and longevity, so we can expect Shadow to be healthy and sturdy. His long haired coat indicates that he will need weekly brushing and grooming. His loving family intends for him to live indoors, so keeping him clean shouldn't be any concern. .
The Aussie originated in Australia when a man named Hall bred smooth blue merle Highland collies to dingos in an attempt to improve on the usual herding breeds for the rough country that was the Australian outback. The result was the "Halls Heelers", which was later cross bred by others until they arrived with a dog with the herding instincts of a collie and kelpie, combined with the ruggedness and endurance of the dingo.
Shadow will need daily mental stimulation and a lot of physical exercise. A leisurely walk around the block will not be enough for this 35 to 45 pound bundle of energy!
